About the program…
Women are the largest emerging economy in the world. Currently, they control 48% of estates over $5 million and will inherit disproportionately more than men of the $40 trillion transfer of wealth over the next decade. Ms. Dzanis, Ettinger and Siracuse are all nationally recognized for their knowledge and experience in the critical success factors when working with women. They are being reunited for their highly touted session in best practices to attract and build relationships with female clients. In this session, they will provide insight, guidance and specific strategies that you can apply and optimally use to grow your practice.
Marie Dzanis, CIMA® is Senior Vice President and Head of ETF Sales and Servicing with FlexShares ETFs. She is responsible for establishing Northern Trust’s presence in the ETF market, recruiting and retaining talented sales professionals, as well as developing significant relationships across important industry channels. Marie has over 24 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Northern Trust in June 2011, she held executive and leadership positions at iShares/Blackrock, JPMorgan Asset Management, and Smith Barney. She has managed multiple channels and has grown several lines of business in the institutional and intermediary space including securities lending and trading, product development, product sales, sales management and branch management. Marie started in the industry as a financial advisor. Marie is a graduate of The Catholic University of America (B.A. in Political Theory), the Stanford University Executive Education Program, and the Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education Program. She received her CIMA® at University of California, Berkeley and is a member and chairwoman of the specialty conference committees for IMCA®. She also is on the ETF committee for Money Management Institute and currently holds her FINRA Series 7, 24 & 66 Licenses.
Heather R. Ettinger has more than 25 year experience in the financial services industry and has held leadership roles in client acquisition and service, as well as operations and strategic planning. As a Managing Partner of Fairport Asset Management, Heather specializes in helping clients and their families create strategic financial plans to guide them through life transitions, such as the loss of a spouse, divorce, selling a business, retirement, and job changes. In 2008, Wealth Management magazine named Heather one of the Top 50 Distinguished Women in Wealth Management. Heather is widely recognized for her unique expertise, experience and dedication to helping other women build their financial acumen and wealth, both in her professional practice and community involvement. She co-authored a study of over 550 women in 44 states entitled “Women of Wealth: Why Does the Financial Services Industry Still Not Hear Them?” Heather has been featured in many publications including the Wall Street Journal, Investment News, Barrons, and Bloomberg. Recognized as an expert in the unique needs of female clients, her most recent national speaking engagements cover “She-Change: Women as Agents of Change in the Family, Business and Society and Its Impact on the Financial Services Industry.”
Suzanne Siracuse is a Vice President at Crain Communications and the publisher of InvestmentNews and Investmentnews.com where she oversees the business, editorial strategies, and operations for each brand. Published weekly, Investment News is the leading news source for financial advisers. Her leadership responsibilities include the newspaper, website, e-newsletters, webcasts, research, data, and conferences. Ms. Siracuse has been with InvestmentNews since its launch in 1998, and formerly held the position of Advertising Sales Director and Associate Publisher before being named Publisher in January of 2006. Her experience within the financial advisory industry has garnered wide renown and respect through her top-level relations with broker dealers, custodians, financial advisers, mutual fund companies, insurance firms and industry associations. Ms. Siracuse began her career at the Philadelphia Business Journal in 1987 where she held a number of sales and sales management positions. She holds a BS in Business from Rider University.
