About the Program

This presentation will address current issues affecting practitioners who work in estate planning, probate, and trust law.  The presentation will address practical interplay between current law, unique facts, and rules of conduct.  The presenter’s extensive litigation experience in probate and trust cases will offer case studies and analysis so that practitioners are aware of issues affecting day to day practice.   


About the Speaker

Franklin is a Member in the Litigation Department at McDonald Hopkins and serves as Chair of the Trust and Estate Litigation Practice Group. Franklin is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer and on the Best Lawyer’s list for Trust and Estate Litigation for many years including being named the regional Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” for Litigation in Estate and Trusts in 2021. Franklin’s practice focuses on disputes and problem-solving involving family wealth transfer, wills, trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, powers of attorney, and living wills. Additionally, Franklin has experience in professional liability defense litigation focused on lawyer negligence involving estate and trust law Franklin has served as the Chair of the CMBA’s Estate Planning and Trust Law Section, and regularly speaks and writes articles on the subjects of Estate and Trust law.

Continuing Education – EPC Cleveland will request approval for this program from the CFP® Board of Standards for CFP® designation holders, from the Supreme Court of Ohio for Ohio attorneys to receive CLE credit, and from the Ohio Department of Insurance. A certificate of completion will be available for those AEP®, CPA, and CWS designees who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements.

IN PERSON: All attendees are encouraged to register in advance and walk-in reservations will be accepted on a space-available basis only.  The meeting cost is $35 for members when paid in advance before noon 09/12/22, $50 for members at the door, $50 for guests, and $210 for a table of six (can be mix of members and non-members - please submit names to admin@epccleveland.org by 09/09/22).  If you reserve and are unable to attend, please call the office to cancel by noon 09/12/22 to avoid a no-show reservation billing.
