About the Program
Lisa Roberts-Mamone and Kevin McKinnis will briefly review some of the proposals that have been made to change the federal income tax rules and, more importantly, the federal transfer tax structure later this year or in 2022 (and/or perhaps beyond) and the profound affect it may have on planning for clients in the very near future (perhaps, even, before this fall). Thereafter, Lisa and Kevin will discuss planning ideas that can and should be explored by a variety of clients and families in different contexts and situations that you are likely to face in the coming months. They will discuss those techniques which are the simplest to implement, as well as those that seem to be the most popular. Lisa and Kevin will also discuss specific ideas for planning with life insurance, in second marriage situations, charitable planning situations, asset protection strategies, and some ideas that can be considered to hedge against the possibility of potential retroactive application of some of the transfer tax rules that are under consideration. There will be no shortage of recommendations for you and your clients to consider, and the presenters will try to point out the benefits and disadvantages of the various techniques.
